Considerations for deleting shared folders
- If you are the Owner of the shared folder, the folder is deleted from both your HCP Anywhere account and the HCP Anywhere accounts of the other folder members.
- If someone else is the Owner of the shared folder, the folder is deleted from your HCP Anywhere account, but not from the HCP Anywhere accounts of other folder members.
Considerations for deleting team folders
- If you are a Collaborator, Viewer, or not the last Manager in the folder, the folder is deleted from your HCP Anywhere account, but not from the HCP Anywhere accounts of the other folder members.
- If you are the last Manager in the folder, the folder is not deleted. Instead:
- The folder remains in your HCP Anywhere account as a non-syncing folder.
- The folder is moved to the top-level of your HCP Anywhere account, even if it was located in a sub folder when you tried to delete it.

Considerations for deleting backup files and folders
- To delete a backup folder, you must first deregister your desktop client. To deregister your desktop client, see temp_id__xqx_1.html.
- Once your desktop client is deregistered, you can delete individual files, groups of files, whole folders, or groups of folders.
- When you delete a backup file or folder, you no longer have access to the folder in the User Portal or on any of your HCP Anywhere devices. However, deleting a backup file from HCP Anywhere does not delete the file from your computer.
You can also delete back folders using the desktop client. For more information on this, see Stopping a backup.
Considerations for deleting mobilized shares
You cannot delete mobilized shares since your organization has specifically placed them into your HCP Anywhere account.
