Restoring from a previous date

HCP Anywhere offers a variety of ways in which to restore deleted and older versions of your files and folders. One easy way to do that is to recover files and folders from a previous date.

Restoring from a previous date is primarily used for bulk restores, such as restoring a large folder or your entire HCP Anywhere account. If you need to restore a small number of files, use file versioning. For information on file versioning, see To recover an older version of a file.

Note

The dates from which you can restore depend on your company's settings. If you choose a date that is not available in the system, you are are brought to the closest available date.

Procedure

  1. In the top-right corner of the User Portal, click your username.
  2. In the menu, click Recover files.
  3. Select a date from the calendar.
  4. Click View.
  5. Select the files and folders you want to recover.
  6. Click Download.
    The files and folders download as a ZIP.
  7. In the window that appears, select one of these:
    • Open with
    • Save File
  8. Click OK.
  9. Once finished, click Return to present.

Next steps

To add the restored files back to your HCP Anywhere account, unzip the downloaded ZIP file in your HCP Anywhere folder. The desktop application will automatically sync the files back to HCP Anywhere for you.
