In addition to sharing your files (with a link or in a shared folder), you can also view a list of times when each of your files was accessed. In addition, you can view:
- For files shared publicly, the IP address through which the link was accessed
- For files shared internally, the username of the user who accessed the file
This is a great way to keep track of who and when your files are being accessed.
Note
You cannot view the history for files in a mobilized share. For information on mobilized shares, see
Mobilized shares.
Procedure
- In the row of a file, click the overflow icon (
).
- In the menu, click Show file history.
The History window appears. The History window lists all the available versions of the file.
- Above the list of versions, click the Show versions with field.
- In the dropdown that appears, select a filter:
- Read access (shared links)
- Lists each time the file was accessed through a shared link. Each time the file was accessed, the window lists the IP address or username of the user that accessed the file.
- Read access (other)
- Lists each time the file was viewed other than through a shared link.
- If the file you are viewing is in a shared folder, click the from field.
- In the dropdown that appears, select a filter:
- Share History
- Lists each time the file was accessed since the shared folder was created (including times the file was accessed before you joined to the folder).
- Private History
- Lists each time the file was accessed since you joined the shared folder.
